This is an early Vito, made in France by Beaugnier, possibly assembled in Wisconsin. These "The Duke" tenors are real pro horns, and this one is extra special. It has a lot of presence or French buzz and plays really consistently throughout. The action feels amazing and the table keys are surprisingly easy to get around. The gold-plated springs feel great, and even the low "C#" has a nice light spring tension. The "SBA style" two separate "B" and "Bb" key guards are unusual for these and a nice touch.

Overhauling and selling this sax is a passion project for me because I love sleeper saxes. Far too often, players decide to go cheap on their vintage sax overhaul because the sax isn't worth much. The obvious problem is that the saxophone will not play anywhere near its potential. Because of this, players often give up on vintage horns, ending up with a Taiwan-made sax that doesn't have the unique tone that vintage saxophones do. I did an $1800 overhaul, and I'm selling it for $1800 —basically giving the sax away for free.

Came with mostly original pads, so it was very unmolested when I got it. My clients know that I do not file tone holes. I used flat metal resos to match the original pad job.
